About ADT-Togo

« Man derives his sustenance and his well-being, before everything, from the resources of nature and lives in symbiosis with its environment, whether natural or artificial. Economic activity arises from this tension between the needs of men and management as transformation of natural resources” (Barde, 1992).

This very complex relationship between man and his environment is often conflicting because of « technological advances and developments sociological which have profoundly modified the way of life of man. (Lambert, 1995).

This situation has contributed to the often irreversible degradation of areas that surround it. The great diversity of discharges and their increasing flows geometry emitted as a result of the strong pressure exerted by the populations on the natural resources pose the problem of the sustainability of the planet in terms global and local. Despite considerable efforts and significant results already achieved, most development problems persist and worsen over the years in many regions of the world, compromising the hope of well-being of populations. The challenges of development in Africa in general, and in Togo in particular, are numerous. The state of our environment recommends to man to think differently for his own sustainability ; in other words, the Earth needs “friends” to save it from decay.

This initiative espouses article 41 of the fundamental law (1992) of Togo which provides “everyone has the right to a healthy environment. The State sees to the protection of the environment".

Friends of the Earth-Togo is recognized under the receipt of declaration of association No. 690 INTS/SG-APA-PC of June 27, 1991, inserted in the official journal of the Republic Togolese on August 1, 1991. The status of development NGO was conferred on it by certificate N°0064/MPAT of October 4, 1995, in accordance with decree N°92-130/PMRT of 27 May 1992.
