Community Dialogue in Boboloè Kopé


As part of the Energy Transition Fund project ( ETF), a mission of Friends of the Earth-Togo held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, the first community dialogue. This mission, composed of the project coordinator ASSEM Ekue and three other members of the coordination team, met community leaders and elders of Boboloè Kopé.

Boboloè Kopé  is among the Togolese coastal communities affected by coastal erosion due to the effects of climate change.< /p>

The objective of this first dialogue is to discuss issues related to the effects of climate change that exacerbate coastal erosion. they are victims but also to remind them of the objectives and activities of the ETF 2023 project in order to involve them more in order to resist a possible exploitation of oil in Togo.

The ETF 2023 project aims to:

Documenting the impacts of climate change and conflicts around local communities tières

 

-       ;   Raise awareness of the need to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energies

-       ;   Mobilizing affected communities and building resilience to dirty energy

-       ;   Strengthen the dialogue between the affected communities and the administrations of the ministries involved in the project.

-       ;   Connect to; regional campaigns such as the campaign against the expansion of the West African Gas Pipeline and the stop of the financing of fossil fuels.
